Adolescence Education Newsletter

This issue provides a comprehensive overview of the socio-demographic and reproductive health situation of adolescents including available evidence about the health risks and challenges that young people face in Asia and the Pacific region. Also included is an “EduTools” insert featuring module 3 and 4, excerpted from HIV/AIDS teacher training manual used in the school setting, originally developed by UNESCO Bangkok.

The “Good Practices” section features lessons learned from MTV’s Staying Alive Campaign on HIV/AIDS prevention and protection and EC/UNFPA supported community-based reproductive health project (RHIYA) implemented in Cambodia, Lao PDR, Sri Lanka and Viet Nam, are also featured. “Research Briefs” from China, India, Nepal and Thailand are also included. AEN features updates on ARSH programmatic work from 13 different countries in the region, as well as research briefs and links to online resources and published by the UNFPA-funded project “Advocacy and Educational Support to Adolescent Reproductive Health.” Current and past editions of AEN can be downloaded from here and print copies can be requested by e-mailing arsh@unescobkk.org
