Policy Research and Dialogue Student Loans Schemes in Asia Series These books are part of a series of in-depth studies on the functioning of government-sponsored student loans schemes in Asia. They were written in the framework of a regional comparative policy review on student loans schemes undertaken our UNESCO office in Bangkok in association with the International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP). This regional project covered five countries and territories including P.R. China, Hong Kong S.A.R. China, the Republic of Korea, the Philippines and Thailand. Additional studies are being commissioned by IIEP, and a regional comparative assessment prepared by UNESCO Bangkok is currently in progress. Student
